Privacy Policy
Last updated 16 October 2026
The short version: Phopt collects nothing. It works entirely on your device, has no account, no servers, no analytics and no ads, and your photos never leave your phone.
Who we are
Phopt is operated by Serophin, ABN 88 280 015 794, PO Box 330, Annandale NSW 2038, Australia ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@serophin.com or through our contact page.
This policy covers the Phopt app for iPhone and iPad, the Phopt app for Android phones and tablets, and this website, phopt.com.
What we collect
Nothing. Phopt has no account or sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting of its own, no advertising and no third-party tracking code, and it does not connect to any server of ours. On the App Store this appears as "Data Not Collected", and on Google Play the Data safety section says no data is collected or shared.
If you have chosen to share analytics and crash data with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage figures with us. On Android, Google Play may give us anonymous crash and performance figures (Android vitals) from devices whose owners allow it. Apple and Google control those settings and that data; see their privacy policies.
Your photos and videos
Phopt asks for access to your photo library so it can show your photos and videos, estimate how much space they could free, make smaller copies of the ones you choose and, when you decide to replace an original, save the smaller copy in its place. All of this happens on your device. Your photos, videos and their details (such as sizes, dates, locations and albums) are never uploaded, copied or sent anywhere, and we never see them. On Android you can also give Phopt access to only the items you pick.
If a photo or video is stored in iCloud, iOS downloads it through the Photos app when Phopt needs it; Phopt itself does not connect to any server.
When you replace an original, it is not erased at once. On iPhone and iPad, iOS asks you to confirm and moves it to the Recently Deleted album of the Photos app; on Android, the system asks you to confirm and moves it to the trash. Either way it stays there for about 30 days and can be recovered before the system removes it for good.
What stays on your device
- Your settings and presets, such as the appearance and the choices you made for photos and videos, in the app's own storage.
- Which items Phopt has already optimised, so it does not suggest them again, and the file sizes it has read from your library, so it can show them quickly next time.
- How many of your 100 free optimisations you have used, so the count survives reinstalling the app: on iPhone and iPad it is kept in the iOS Keychain; on Android it is kept in the app and backed up with Google Play services Block Store, which encrypts it so that we cannot read it.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.
This website
phopt.com is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ads or trackers, and its fonts and images are served from this site. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not use that data to identify or follow visitors.
Payments
The lifetime unlock is an in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple on iPhone and iPad, and by Google Play on Android. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details; the app only learns from Apple or Google Play whether the unlock has been bought, so it can lift the limit.
Who processes data for us
Phopt itself sends nothing to anyone. These companies handle data around it, each under its own privacy policy:
- Apple. Sells and processes the lifetime unlock on iPhone and iPad, downloads photos and videos stored in iCloud through the Photos app, and shares anonymous crash reports and usage figures if you allow it.
- Google. Sells and processes the lifetime unlock through Google Play on Android, keeps the encrypted free optimisation count in Block Store, and shares anonymous crash and performance figures if you allow it. Through Google Workspace it also holds the messages you send to support@serophin.com.
- Cloudflare. Hosts this website and processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver it and protect it from abuse.
If you contact us
If you write to us at support@serophin.com or through our contact page, we use your email address and message only to reply and help you.
How long we keep it
We keep nothing about you, because nothing reaches us from the app. Deleting the app removes its storage; the free optimisation count stays in your Keychain on iPhone and iPad, and in your Block Store backup on Android.
If you write to us, we keep your email address and message only as long as it takes to reply and help you.
Children
Phopt is suitable for everyone and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
